About Burn Ban Texas

Burn Ban Texas (burnbantexas.com) is an independent, free informational service that publishes the current outdoor burn ban status for all 254 Texas counties, updated every day from the Texas A&M Forest Service statewide burn ban dataset.

What we do

• Republish the Texas A&M Forest Service county burn ban dataset daily, with a dedicated page for every county.
• Show each county's status alongside its neighbors, with the date the data was last checked, on every page.
• Track status-change history over time and offer free email alerts when a county's status changes.
• Explain the rules: what burn bans are, TCEQ outdoor burning rules, welding restrictions, and campfire rules.

What we are not

We are not a government agency and have no affiliation with the Texas A&M Forest Service, TCEQ, or any county. Burn ban orders are issued and lifted by county commissioners courts, sometimes faster than statewide data updates.
